Students at Chase Avenue Elementary had the opportunity to expand their cultural knowledge and gain a better understanding of our global neighbors with Chinese students visiting the school. Chase Avenue Elementary partnered with Advanced International Academy to bring the students from China to their school to see what life in America is like for Chase Avenue Students.
Advanced International Academy (AIA) is an organization that facilitates overseas study and tours where students and teachers from all over the world are able to immerse themselves in another culture. The Immersion/ Integration program offered by AIA offers students a chance to study in an American school where they are hosted by a family, are immersed in with American students, and learn about the language and culture.
During their AIA Global Youth Ambassador Immersion program visit, 60 students from China, along with their teachers, had an eight day stay at Chase. This was the largest group AIA has sent to the United States. Chase Avenue hosts students often, which gives their students a wonderful opportunity to meet people from around the world and form global relationships. The partnership Chase Avenue Elementary has with AIA builds strong school, host family, and community relationships where everyone benefits from learning something new about a different culture.
Chase Avenue is proud to host students from the Global Youth Ambassador program and looks forward to more groups coming to see their school! Chase Avenue Assistant Principal, Greg Calvert, says this program is “really an awesome experience for Chase and Cajon Valley as a community.”
