New Delhi – January 04, 2019 – Dr. Sohini Sastri from Kolkata has been felicitated by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, with the Champions of Change Award in a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Dr. Sastri is an astrologer by profession and she was chosen for this award due to her various social work initiatives and excellence in other fields.
Dr. Sastri has done West Bengal proud with her stellar achievement as she is among the 45 eminent personalities that include bureaucrats, police officers, social activists, and businessmen from all across India, who were all felicitated with the prestigious awards instituted by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy (IFIE).
The IFIE instituted the Champions of Change Awards this year to felicitate those who have contributed significantly to bring meaningful change in Aspirational Districts and to the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. Prominent among the awardees are: Mr. N. Biren Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur; Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries; and Mr. Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor and Mr. Sudarshan Bhagat, both Union Ministers of State for Tribal Affairs.
The awardees were selected by a jury headed by Mr. K.G. Balakrishnan, former Chief Justice of India. The jury comprised such prominent personalities from various fields as former Supreme Court Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra and senior journalist, Mr. Ved Pratap Vaidik.
