Schneider Electric Exchange will aim to bring together innovators from across industry, software and startups to find solutions to business challenges
German energy management and automation company Schneider Electric has officially launched Schneider Electric Exchange, a cross-industry open ecosystem, which will attempt to solve real-world sustainability and efficiency challenges.
The ecosystem, which started life in private beta mode in April 2018 before being opened up to a broader customer base in November 2018, will attempt to empower “a diverse community of solvers to create and scale business solutions and seize new market value”, providing individuals with entry to a network of technical tools and resources that will help them to develop, share and sell digital and IoT innovations.
Schneider Electric chief digital officer Hervé Coureil said: “What differentiates Schneider Electric Exchange is that it brings together people across industries and practice areas that share a passion for sustainability and efficiency, enabling collaboration and interaction across ecosystems.
“While all content, IoT applications, software, datasets, analytics and tools are available to everyone, we have focused on specific capabilities that fit the needs and expectations of each community.”
In creating its new global platform, Ecosystem, Schneider Electric collaborated with partners, integrators and developers in its open platform, in order to deliver real-time control and operational efficiency. The new platform also includes solutions from EcoStruxure, Schneider Electric’s IoT-enabled, plug-and-play, open, interoperable architecture and platform, which has been deployed in close to 500,000 sites, and offers the support of more than 20,000 developers.
Drawing on the ecosystem of its digital partners such as Accenture and Claorty, Schneider Electric Exchange will look to provide companies with tools to operationalize AI for real-world problems, with the company stating that the platform would offer an “extended ecosystem approach to digital innovation”.
Philippe Mack, CEO and founder of PEPITE, said that Schneider Electric Exchange would help the company reach clients it would ordinarily not be able to reach, while Olivier Cognet, CEO of Predictive Layer, noted that “Schneider Electric Exchange enables our predictive analytics services to reach more international enterprises and utilities”.
Cyril Perducat, EVP – IoT and digital offers at Schneider Electric, remarked: “Digitization continues to revolutionize the way we work and behave.
“The world can no longer work in independent silos; the need for better integration and collaboration has unearthed new opportunities and solutions,” Perducat added. “Schneider Electric Exchange brings together a diverse ecosystem of digital innovators and experts, enabling the co-creation of solutions and enriching learning and speed through collective intelligence.”
