Bangkok, Thailand –<\/strong> The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) will attend the American Film Market in Santa Monica, USA, between October 31st<\/sup> and November 7th<\/sup>, 2018, to promote Thai film and animated content, and Thai facilities and services within the film and animation industries.<\/p>\n

Eight Thai companies will attend AFM with the support of the DITP, representing the highest levels of skill, experience and talent within Thailand’s film and animation industries.<\/p>\n

AFM attendance is part of an on-going program to grow revenue, expand the international trade, and create awareness of Thailand’s achievements in the global market.<\/p>\n

Ms.Banjongjitt Angsusingh, Director General of The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, said:<\/p>\n

“In the modern, digital age, Thailand’s creative industries have enormous potential for growth, and are an important contributor to the economy.<\/p>\n

“In the past year, Thailand’s film and animation industry has contributed over 800 million US dollars to the economy. Thus the combined economy of the film and animation industries is almost a billion dollars.”<\/p>\n

Hollywood (Thailand) Co., Ltd.<\/em><\/p>\n

Kantana Sound Studio Co., Ltd.<\/em><\/p>\n

M Pictures Co., Ltd.<\/em><\/p>\n

P.L.H. Holding Co., Ltd.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sahamongkolfilm International Co., Ltd.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Monk Studios Co., Ltd.<\/em><\/p>\n

The American Film Market is one of the most important international trade events for the film industry. This year over 7000 decision-makers from over eighty countries will close more than US$1 Billion in motion picture production and distribution deals.<\/p>\n

A highlight of the American Film Market is the Thai Night, organised by the DITP, which invites leading film industry executives to meet with Thailand’s film entrepreneurs in a social environment.<\/p>\n

Presiding over this event is Her Royal Highness Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi.<\/p>\n
