The 70<\/span>th<\/span> Annual Primetime Emmy Awards honored the best in U.S. prime time television programming from June 1, 2017 until May 31, 2018, as choses by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The ceremony was held live on September 17, 2018, at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, and was broadcasted in the U.S. by NBC. The ceremony was hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost.<\/span><\/p>\n

Xosha Roquemore graced the red carpet in a black <\/span>Winnie Couture custom dress<\/span><\/a> appearing so chic and statuesque. Roquemore is best know for her role as Tamra Webb in the hit tv series “The Mindy Project”, by creator Mindy Kaling. The show is an American romantic comedy television series that premiered on Fox in 2012. The series follows obstetrician\/gynecologist Mindy Lahiri as she tries to balance her personal and professional life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Xosha Roquemore was born in 1984 in Los Angeles and is named after the Xhosa people of South Africa.  She started acting when she joined The Amazing Grace Conservatory, in the ninth grade. Roquemore starred in her first major film as Jo Ann in “Precious”.  In 2013 she was cast in a recurring role on “Kirstie” based on her work in the series’ pilot. Her role, however, was recast after she was added as a series regular to “The Mindy Project” as a result of a three-episode guest star stint.<\/span><\/p>\n

After her appearance on the Emmy’s red carpet, Xosha posted her picture wearing her Winnie Couture dress, alongside of her partner and Emmy-nominee Lakeith Stanfield on her <\/span>Instagram account<\/span><\/a>. Her photo has received over twelve thousand likes and hundreds of comments.  Roquemore and Stanfield previously revelated the happy news of her first child on the way in January while posing together at the Sundance Film Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Xosha Roquemores’ appearance in the Winnie Couture dress caught the attention of BET.com, where they listed Roquemore with others in an <\/span>online article<\/span><\/a> titled, “#BlackGirlMagic: See Our Favorite Queens Slaying These 2018 Emmy Awards’ Lewks”.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
