Throughout his decades-long career on and off-Broadway, Albert Poland has worked on some of the most memorable productions ever seen and with some of the top stars of Broadway and Hollywood. Now, Poland has written STAGES<\/em>, an intimate closeup of the foibles and fancies of what a career in show business is really like. Through a newly launched Kickstarter campaign, Poland aims to raise the capital needed to bring his rich theater experiences to audiences everywhere.<\/p>\n

With the help of backers, Poland looks to raise $20,000 to publish his book, and in its first two days the campaign has already raised more than $6,000.<\/p>\n

Albert Poland has worked as a producer, and general manager for more than 90 productions, including The Grapes of Wrath, Little Shop of Horrors, The Fantasticks, Steel Magnolias, One Mo’Time, As Is <\/em>and The Boy of Oz.<\/em> Working with Sam Shepard, Edward Albee, David Mamet, Arthur Miller, Judy Garland, Bette Davis, Hugh Jackman, Liza Minnelli, Cameron Mackintosh, Bernard B. Jacobs, and various other celebrities have left him with a long list of stories to tell, and in STAGES<\/em>, he does just that.<\/p>\n

In STAGES<\/em>, readers will get a poignant, intimate and often humorous look through the lens of a New York Theatre veteran who is part of its history and here writes about it with the candor and insight of one who lived it.<\/p>\n
