Orbison. “Even if it’s just to come in and use our high-speed internet or get a free cup of coffee, hopefully it helps.”

To participate, federal employees must show their government ID and they will be granted free access to the CapeSpace business lounge, which includes gourmet coffee and high-speed internet, for the duration of the shutdown. Located at 100 Independence Way in Hyannis, CapeSpace is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm.

The offer extends to working family members of federal employees. “Some of those affected might have family members who work from home and need a distraction-free workspace for a few hours,” Orbison said. “I’m happy to do what I can and wish I could do more.”

Since December 22, the government has been in a partial shutdown that is now the second longest in U.S. history. If it extends until Saturday, it will tie for the longest, at 21 days, which occurred in 1996.

It is estimated that roughly 800,000 government workers have been impacted by this shutdown and are currently living without pay. The shutdown has impacted a number of local residents, including those serving at Joint Base Cape Cod as well as employees at the Cape Cod National Seashore.

About CapeSpace

Opened in June 2016, CapeSpace is a coworking facility based in Hyannis that offers fully-furnished private offices, conference rooms, a business lounge, and virtual offices with an array of business amenities including high-speed fiber optic internet service from OpenCape; a gourmet beverage bar; copy/print/fax/scan equipment; administrative services; and more, all available on flexible terms.

To learn more about CapeSpace, visit www.CapeSpace.com.

Media Contact
Company Name: CapeSpace
Contact Person: Robbin Orbison
Email: Send Email
Phone: 508-221-3455
City: Hyannis
State: MA
Country: United States
Website: www.CapeSpace.com

CapeSpace is offering federal employees and their working family members who have been impacted by the government shutdown free access to its facility and services. “We feel the need to

[1
