From IBM developer and Google engineer to art dealer and blockchain director, Caesar has made a career out of breaking barriers with innovative solutions.

What are your thoughts about this recent data breach and privacy scandals from the big companies?

Caesar: Tons of personal data is stored on servers owned by countless big companies working in the shadows. These money hungry companies take advantage of the trust we’ve given them with our data only to turn their backs on us to make a profit by providing targeted advertisements or selling our data to other companies under the guise of providing a more personalized experience across platforms.

Do you think we should apply heavier regulations to these companies when it comes to our data?

Caesar: It’s true that these recent scandals from tech giants resulted in a public outcry for more regulation [in terms of data privacy]. Although, this only further complicates the issue because more regulation only means more surveillance, step by step, leading us to a more Orwellian society. There shouldn’t be a need to regulate our data in the first place. It’s like saying how far someone is allowed to pull your curtain back to look into your home. If the person is standing behind your curtain, about to pull it back and look in, there is already malicious intent.

If you don’t agree with more regulation, and you say the tech giants have misused our trust, then what’s the solution?

Caesar: These companies should have never been given access to our data in the first place. When the first social network was setup, they really was opening Pandora’s box. For the first time in history, we gave someone the power to make money off of us by hacking directly into our minds. By pulling data about our likes from our personal messages, compiling our search histories, looking through our photos – Tech giant sells user data and makes a profit, while the user never even has to leave the house or speak an audible sound. I’m sure if these big companies could figure out a way to harness our thoughts directly, and sell the info, they would. They’ve practically already done it.

Where does Bitconch come into play during this data privacy/data regulation debate?

Caesar: Bitconch proposes Bit-R, a decentralized user profile system powered by a revolutionary consensus algorithm that we call Proof-of-Reputation (PoR). Bit-R stores the user profile data on a decentralized distributed ledger system which will maintain data consistency using the PoR. Since all user data is encrypted and can only be accessed by the user himself, developers can use the data to provide a better experience for users, but they can never find out the specific identity of the users and thus avoid the chance of violating the users’ privacy.

You’ve recently announced a collaboration with Cryptic Labs. In what ways will this help you to achieve your goals?

Caesar: The foundation of data privacy and data security is cryptography. It’s used to secure user data making it impossible for hackers or other third parties to peek at it. When faulty cryptography arises, think data breaches, like the one we saw last year with Equifax. Breaches like these have affected millions of users.

In partnering with Cryptic Labs, Bitconch is partnering with the best blockchain researchers in the world – Turning and Nobel Prize winners – so we can continue our effort to build the next secure public ledger system.

How did this partnership first come about?

Caesar: A few months ago I gave a seminar at Stanford. One of the attendees was Stewart Raphael, who works as the CTO of Cryptic Labs. We started talking about Bitconch and the Proof-of-Reputation algorithm we proposed, and over the next few months, we started to build a partnership based on his interest in getting Cryptic Labs involved. I was very excited to hear that his company wanted to build a relationship because none of the work that we do – or that of any other blockchain or cryptography company – would be possible without the preliminary work that was one in the ’70s by their Chief Scientist Dr. Diffie in bringing cryptography to the public. I still find myself awestruck by what we’ve accomplished so far.

Your career background has been quite eclectic. How did you first get involved in the art world?

Caesar: I was born in a family of artists, my father is a prestigious artist from Singapore, and my mother is also an art professor, so naturally, I grew attached to fine arts from a very young age.

What do you see Blockchain technology accomplishing in the future, and yourself?

Caesar: The future is limitless when it comes to blockchain technology. In the foreseeable future, more and more organizations will adopt blockchain technology to increase transaction speed and provide a better user experience.

Blockchain will be the crucial component for the next generation of Internet

For myself, coding and math are my favorites besides art, so I will continue to stick to them, being a happy coder.

Bitconch’s Bit-R and Proof-of-Reputation algorithm will be the key to solve the data privacy crisis on the internet.

To learn more about Bitconch, visit Bitconch.io and Github.com/Bitconch/BUS, and follow Bitconch on Linkedin and Twitter

Media Contact
Company Name: Bitconch PTE.LTD
Contact Person: Caesar Chad
Email: Send Email
Country: United States
Website: www.Bitconch.io

Caesar talks data privacy scandals, Cryptic Labs, and the future of Blockchain Following are a few questions answered by Caesar Chad, Bitconch Co-Founder and designer of the Proof-of-Reputation consensus algorithm

[1
