Nashville, TN –<\/strong> Steven Battey has made history by writing and producing a country music song, an accomplishment so rare that it is shared by only other two African Americans: legendary musicians Charlie Pride and Darius Rucker.<\/p>\n

Battey has written and produced for many major artists, including Justin Bieber, Madonna and Bruno Mars. But his country number One Number<\/strong> Away<\/strong>, performed by country star Luke Combs, earned the songwriter and producer particular recognition and praise with its highly successful run in 2018.<\/p>\n

Aside from his successes in the music industry, Battey, together with his partner Alix Petersen, has founded a children’s organization called Singing For Superheroes<\/a> (SFS) that spreads awareness about children with illnesses and disabilities.<\/p>\n

Several renowned athletes, singers and actors have become involved in this worthy cause, including Superbowl champion Demarcus Ware, Chyler Leigh of East of Eli, and Snoop Dogg. Captain America himself, Chris Evans, did a video shout-out on the organization, and Taylor Swift recently sent him a congratulatory gift just to show her support on his work he is doing.<\/p>\n

“Our goal is to make a difference in children’s lives,” says Battey. “And what better way to do this than through music. After all, music is medicine for the soul!”<\/p>\n

Having written for some of the biggest artists in the world such as Justin Bieber, Madonna, Flo-Rida and Bruno Mars, this remarkably talented musician has been Grammy nominated four times and won his first Grammy in 2011.<\/p>\n
