Jendrik is 13 years old and has better things to do than deal with his family’s obsession with chores and Christmas. He is always annoyed; by his parents, his younger sister and of course by the stupid, never-ending and irritating chores he has to do around the house, taking out the rubbish chief among them. One day, that chore leads him to meet someone who apparently wants to make the teen’s life even more difficult! He finds a grandpa – not even his own – sitting in the family’s shed. He claims to be Father Christmas himself. Great – that was the only thing missing in Jendrik’s life!<\/p>\n

Jendrik, the reluctant hero of “Presenting Gary Christmas” by Katrin Zimmermann learns that the only way to get rid of the strange old man is to help him.  The charming and amusing novel is a Christmas story to read to oneself or aloud to grumpy brothers, feisty sisters, and parents who should take out the rubbish themselves once in a while.
