On January the 26th<\/sup> a German government-appointed commission has said that all of their coal-fired power plants will be closed by the latest 2038.<\/p>\n

The German Economic Minister Peter Altmaier said on Twitter: ‘Less C02, more new jobs, a secure power supply, and affordability: a strong signal’<\/p>\n

One of the commissions’ leaders stated that ‘This is a historic accomplishment’ and said that this deal will allow Germany to meet its climate change targets for 2030, which call for significant cuts to the use of fossil fuels.<\/p>\n

With this continued shift away from fossil fuels countries will be turning to carbon-neutral alternatives such as solar, wind and wood pellets.<\/p>\n
