Shawn Anderson to Walk Across 7th Country in Five Years<\/div>\n

LOS ANGELES, California – July 16, 2019 –<\/strong> Shawn Anderson<\/a> not only motivates people with his books and speeches, he inspires people with his actions. On July 27, the 7-time motivational author will “walk his talk” by taking on his latest extra-mile adventure – walking across France. France will be the 7th country he has walked across in the last five years.<\/p>\n

“Some motivators are great at talking the talk. I’m pretty good at walking mine,” Anderson smiles. “If I’m going to have value helping others during their hardest times, I better know how to get up and motivate myself when life knocks me down during my own hard times. When you walk across a country, you definitely get knocked down … a lot,” Anderson shares. <\/p>\n

Creating extra-mile challenges is nothing new for the 56-year-old motivational guru. The author of a former #1 motivational book, A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over<\/a>, SOAR to the Top!, and most recently The Four Fibs<\/a>, Anderson has also walked across Spain, Portugal, England, Ireland, Italy and 750 miles around Shikoku, Japan. He has pedaled a bike solo ocean-to-ocean across the United States twice, run a 100-mile race, completed a 40-day around-the-world trip and has created adventures in over 45 countries. In 2015, Anderson pushed himself out of his comfort zone in a different way and created a month-long speaking tour in the Philippines where he shared his “go the extra mile” message with over 10,000 Filipinos.<\/p>\n

Anderson continues, “Life has a way of dulling us unless we keep ourselves sharp. I use these physical challenges as ax sharpening tools. Walking 500 miles with so many unknowns facing me every day definitely sharpens my fortitude and confidence. Talking about ‘going the extra mile’ and overcoming fear means nothing unless I know what it means to walk the talk.”<\/p>\n

Anderson is also the Founder of Extra Mile America and the creator of “Extra Mile Day” – a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change when we go the extra mile. On November 1, 2018, 553 cities made the “Extra Mile Day” declaration and recognized the contributions of the volunteer heroes and organizations in their cities.
