Halie Loren’s “Noah” Awarded an Emmy for “Best Music Video” for the Southewast Chapter<\/em><\/p>\n

Alaskan-born, Oregon-based Halie Loren music video for “Noah” from her album From The Wild Sky, released via Justin Time and Nettwerk Records, wins Emmy for Best Music Video. <\/p>\n

The video features So You Think You Can Dance (Top 5, Season 14) breakout star and finalist Kaylee “Impavido” Millis traveling through urban and rural decaying landscapes, grappling with loss and angst, but with a bittersweet sense of gratitude and humility.<\/p>\n

“I was really excited to collaborate with Kaylee, as I knew she’d bring a physical interpretation to the story that would be compelling. Seeing her in action, it was extremely clear to see why she was a top finalist on “So You Think You Can Dance”… she’s an inspired and inspiring dancer, full of creativity, grace, and moxey to spare,” says Halie.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by student filmmaker Thang Ho, the video was awarded an Emmy for Best Music Video as part of the Student Production Awards, as presented by The National Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Southeast Chapter. NATAS Student Production Awards<\/a> recognizes outstanding achievement in video production by showcasing work created by college students in news, craft and programming categories (Results<\/a>).<\/p>\n

“I met Thang on a transatlantic flight… I was returning from concert tour dates in Italy, and Thang was traveling with friends, but, as the camera bag he carried made evident, his trip also had creative aims. We struck up what turned into a 6-hour conversation about art and travel, and stayed in touch via social media for the three years between that flight and the conversation that became music-video-creation plans,” says Halie<\/p>\n

In addition to enlisting the talents of young artists and performers, Halie also hosts the upcoming music series “Paradise Music Hour,” an hour-long, music-based TV series highlighting many behind-the-scenes musicians who have backed more ‘well-known’ names as well as emerging musicians at a variety of venues in Paradise, California.  While much of Paradise was destroyed by last year’s Camp Fire, California’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire, several treasured venues remain, while others are in the process of rebuilding.  In celebration of the community’s resilience and spirit, the series will utilize both the traditional venues that survived, but also new and interesting locations in and around Paradise. Picked up by PBS, the show will now be syndicated across various west coast affiliates, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Mateo and more.  <\/p>\n
