The 2019 International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Conference kicked off in the Qianxi’nan of Guizhou Province on October 29th. Over 1,200 guests including nearly 300 foreign guests from China, the United States, Britain, Hungary, South Korea, Thailand, Japan and other countries and regions attended this two-day event. The former Prime Minister of France and President of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance Dominique De Villepin delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

The International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Conference has been successfully held for four consecutive years since 2015. It has played an active role in promoting the integration of mountain tourism and outdoor sports, aiding the development of China’s tourism industry, and establishing positive impression of China’s beautiful tourism. The International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Conference has become an important window to showcase the mountain tourism resources, outdoor sports development and tourism poverty alleviation experience in Guizhou, China and overseas. It is a high-end platform for the global exchange and cooperation of China’s mountain tourism and outdoor sports.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Administration of Sports, and the Guizhou Province People’s Government co-hosted this event. The theme of this year’s conference is “Enjoy Harmony between Man and Nature – Integrated Development of Culture, Tourism and Healthcare.” The main intention of this conference is to initiate in-depth conversations and extensive cooperation on developing high quality mountain tourism, optimization of high standard services, and high level facilities upgrades.<\/p>\n

The conference is hosting 55 various events including the Mountain Tourism Sports Equipment Industry Expo, the Guizhou Hot Spring Tourism Industry Matchmaking Symposium, the Colorful Guizhou Tour, the China-Japan-Korea TV Producers Forum, and the exhibition of China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritages. Other International Mountain Outdoor Sports competitions include the Qinglong “24 Turns” Off Road Rally, the Hot Air Balloon Performance and Riding Experience, and the Xingyi Wanfeng Forest International Hiking event.<\/p>\n

The 7th “China Wanfenglin Summit on Beautiful Villages” will open on October 30th<\/sup> during the conference. With nearly 500 guests attending this event, the theme of this year’s summit is “The United Endeavor towards Poverty Alleviation”. Activities include the Beautiful Village and Smart Education Seminar. The main focuses of this event are poverty alleviation, economic development in rural China, and providing supports to rural areas on subjects of education, culture, tourism, medical care, industry and social assistance.<\/p>\n

In recent years, in order to promote local economic development, the Guizhou Province has made great effort to create an international mountain tourism and outdoor sports destination for both Chinese and global tourists through the beautiful scenery and rich local resources in mountain tourism. Currently, it has received tremendous supports from Switzerland and other countries and regions\uff0c<\/span>reached cooperation on hotel management, mountain tourism resources development, construction of outdoor sports facilities and implementing professional staff trainings. <\/p>\n
